MLOs must complete a minimum of 8 hours of NMLS-approved CE annually
Additional State Requirements
Mortgage Loan Originators (MLO) are required to complete continuing education every year in order to keep their license active. The national requirement for continuing education is eight credit hours which must include three hours of federal law, two hours of ethics, two hours of non-traditional mortgage lending and one hour of elective.
Some states require additional hours covering state specific material in addition to the national eight hour requirement. You can view state specific requirements on the NMLS website. If you need state specific courses, please email our staff at support@careerclassroom.com.
The SAFE Act does not allow license holders to repeat the same CE course two years in a row. Our courses are created brand new each year so students can confidently take our continuing education courses every year.
Course Details
Course Format: Our courses are completely online and self-paced. Our courses are video based and hosted by an industry expert. This format makes our courses both interesting and engaging.
Reporting: We report course completions to NMLS automatically on your behalf, typically within 1-2 business days.
Credit Banking Fees: All NMLS credit banking fees are included with our courses at no additional charge!
Final Exam: Students must pass the final exam with a minimum score of 70%. The exam is untimed and open-book. If a student fails, they are allowed an unlimited number of attempts.
Certificates: You will receive an electronic certificate of course completion immediately upon successful course completion.
